WHY ME?

I do not only speak about these topics. I have researched them, worked in them and lived them.

I bring over 14 years of experience across government, policy, research, academia, nonprofit leadership and entrepreneurship in Africa, the UK and Canada. I hold a PhD in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London and a Master's in International Development with Distinction from the University of Westminster.

I currently work in public policy in Canada and have built a portfolio career spanning policy, academic and independent research, consulting, entrepreneurship, writing and speaking. As a child wellbeing and violence-prevention researcher, my work brings evidence to conversations about parenting, children, safety and wellbeing.

As an immigrant who has studied, lived and built a career across different countries, I understand both personally and professionally what it means to translate your education, experience and identity across cultural contexts.

I am also a bestselling author and entrepreneur who has turned my own academic and professional expertise into books, resources, consulting and other income-generating opportunities.

As a working mother of two young children, my conversations about motherhood, ambition and career come from navigating those realities myself.
